Dabrett Black, the man accused of fatally shooting

Texas DPS Trooper Damon Allen during a traffic stop on Thanksgiving, served in the U.S. Army, FOX 4 reports

Three people who say they served with Black told reporters at the station he was a “nice guy” who exhibited a sudden shift in behavior while in the military.

“Funny,” “motivated” and a “good leader” are some of the ways three of his former colleagues described Black in an interview with the station. But one source, Jessica Vinson, said he was struggling with personal issues, and eventually broke down.

“While we were in formation one day, he just went off and he went off on everybody and just started calling everybody and telling people ‘I’ve been asking for help for a really long time, and you guys just want to look the other way and push me aside, so what am I going to do? I can only be pushed so far until I crack,’” she told FOX 4.
